Philanthropy Delaware: Winners of Annual Beau Biden Memorial Scholarship Announced

The I Could Do Great Things Foundation, founded in 2009 by Delaware philanthropists Stuart and Suzanne Grant, announced today the winners of the fourth annual Beau Biden Memorial Scholarship. High school senior Allison Stuebing of Wilmington will receive the gold prize of $10,000, with Alia Marshall of Rehoboth Beach, Benjamin Stewart of Middletown, and Julia Frank of Wilmington each receiving silver prizes of $5,000 for outstanding commitment to their communities.

USA Today: Applications sought for Beau Biden Memorial Scholarship

For the second year in a row, a Delaware-based nonprofit will offer a $10,000 college scholarship to a high school senior who “embodies the virtues” of former state Attorney General Beau Biden.

Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, died in 2015 after a battle with brain cancer. His family serves on the selection committee for the scholarship, which is offered by the I Could Do Great Things Foundation.

Monomoy Girl was named 3-Year-Old Filly of the Year at the 2018 Eclipse Awards, the annual event to honor achievements in Thoroughbred racing.

Though she lost out on Horse of the Year honors to Justify, Monomoy Girl’s owners, Stuart Grant, Michael Dubb, Michael Caruso and Sol Kumin, couldn’t be happier with their prize filly – only the third filly to win both the Breeder’s Cup Distaff and the Kentucky Oaks in the same year.
