One of Stuart Grant’s personal passions is horse racing and he has become one of the top owners and breeders of thoroughbred race horses in the United States.
Among the graded stakes winners Grant bred are: Mor Spirit (grade 1), Lady Fog Horn (grade 2) and Edge of Reality (grade 3). The latter two were raced by Grant under his stable name The Elkstone Group.
The Elkstone Group, along with partners Michael Dubb, Sol Kumin and Michael Caruso, also own Monomoy Girl, a four-time grade 1 winner which has consistently been named to the 2018 NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll. Monomoy Girl, trained by Brad Cox, triumphed in the Ashland Stakes, Kentucky Oaks, the Acorn and the Coaching Club Oaks.
Many of The Elkstone Group’s horses winter and train at Grant’s farms, The Camden Training Center in South Carolina and/or were bred at C-Dog Farm, a breeding facility in Chesapeake City, Maryland.
